Our buddies over at Android Central have been playing with the Chromecast for a few days now, and have put together a pretty comprehensive setup guide. On Android there's a handy app available in Google Play to help you get going, but if you're going to be using your Chromecast with your Mac and or your iOS device, you'll need to use the Mac to get setup. Head over to the Google Chromecast page where you'll find a download link for the Chromecast app for your Mac. Once installed, it's a matter of a few simple steps to get your Chromecast dongle set up on your home WiFi network, and then you should be good to go.

Chromecast can mirror full screen browser tabs from your Mac or PC to your TV in the same way you mirror content from your mobile device. This is very similar to the AirPlay we know and love, though only works for content within the confines of Chrome on your computer. And, with the Google Cast Chrome extension installed, you can also beam YouTube videos over directly from the browser. Pretty neat.

Open a web page in a new Chrome tab, or refresh a web page in a tab that is already open. The extension is enabled once the web page downloads to your local cache. Select the Acrobat icon to view the options.

Enable Allow access to file URLs in the Adobe Acrobat extension to open local PDF files in the browser and edit. You can quickly download an email attachment and open the file in your browser. You can also work with it using Acrobat PDF tools.

Casting Brave browser is similar to casting Google Chrome. The only difference is we have to enable the extension that does the job. Follow the given steps to enable Media Router in Brave that lets a user Cast to a different device.

Each item in this list is an extension-style match pattern (see =2095039). Users can easily install items from any URL that matches an item in this list. Both the location of the *.crx file and the page where the download is started from (in other words, the referrer) must be allowed by these patterns. Do not host the files at a location that requires authentication.

Set 'BlockPotentiallyDangerousDownloads' to allow all downloads except for those that carry Microsoft Defender SmartScreen warnings of potentially dangerous or unwanted downloads or that have dangerous file type extensions.

You can enable this policy to create a dictionary of file type extensions with a corresponding list of domains that will be exempted from file type extension-based download warnings. This lets enterprise administrators block file type extension-based download warnings for files that are associated with a listed domain. For example, if the "jnlp" extension is associated with "website1.com", users would not see a warning when downloading "jnlp" files from "website1.com", but see a download warning when downloading "jnlp" files from "website2.com".

Files with file type extensions specified for domains identified by this policy will still be subject to non-file type extension-based security warnings such as mixed-content download warnings and Microsoft Defender SmartScreen warnings.

The following example value would prevent file type extension-based download warnings on swf, exe, and jnlp extensions for *.contoso.com domains. It will show the user a file type extension-based download warning on any other domain for exe and jnlp files, but not for swf files.

Note that while the preceding example shows the suppression of file type extension-based download warnings for "swf" files for all domains, applying suppression of such warnings for all domains for any dangerous file type extension is not recommended due to security concerns. It is shown in the example merely to demonstrate the ability to do so.

In ephemeral mode, profile data is saved on disk only for the length of the user session. Features like browser history, extensions and their data, web data like cookies, and web databases aren't saved after the browser is closed. This doesn't prevent a user from manually downloading any data to disk, or from saving pages or printing them. If the user has enabled sync, all data is preserved in their sync accounts just like with regular profiles. Users can also use InPrivate browsing in ephemeral mode unless you explicitly disable this.

Tip: Don't forget to use a strong password for your NordVPN account, as it will help you to avoid credential stuffing attacks and will keep your account safe.As generating and remembering strong and secure passwords is not an easy task, we recommend downloading a free password manager like NordPass. It generates secure passwords for you and stores them safely, saving you time-wasting password resets in the future. NordPass also offers a Chrome extension.

You just need to tell the extension which local photos you want to appear on your Chromecast; then you can sit back and relax. Customizable features include the background music, slideshow speed, an on/off time display, and support for rotated displays.

A new, open source, experimental Firefox extension called fx_cast brings the ability to cast from Firefox to Chromecast. The extension implements the Chrome Sender API and exposes it to web apps to enable cast support. You do need a bridge application on the OS (Windows, Mac, or Linux) to handle communication with receiver devices. Once both are installed, all you have to do is click on the new cast button that has been added to the toolbar, and you should be able to start casting content from websites as well as videos from YouTube and Netflix right from Firefox itself. 2ff7e9595c
